An amazing tsuba attributed to the Shoami school. The sword guard depicts a waterfall and rocks scenery carved into steel. The process of adding depth to the carving is referred to as niku-bori.

Further details have been brought onto the surface by the use of silver and gold nunome zogan technique.

Beautiful piece of history with certificate by Nihon Tosogu Kenkyukai organisation.
